Surah Al-Munafiqun — 63:11

وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

Wa lany yu 'akhkhiral laahu nafsan izaa jaaa'a ajaluhaa; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon

Ale Bóg nie da zwłoki żadnej duszy, kiedy nadejdzie jej termin. Bóg jest w pełni świadomy tego, co wy czynicie!

God will never delay a soul when its appointed time has come, and God is fully aware of what you do.

Reflection

The verb here is the one the dying man used a line earlier when he asked to be held back a little longer, so the request is refused in its own vocabulary. That request is quoted rather than described, which lets the surah end on someone's actual voice: a man who meant to give, at the moment giving is no longer available to him. It closes a chapter about people whose conduct never caught up with their words.
