Surah Al-An'am — 6:95

Innal laaha faaliqul habbi wannawaa yukhrijul haiya minal maiyiti wa mukhrijul maiyiti minal haiy; zaalikumul laahu fa annaa tu'fakoon

Zaprawdę, Bóg sprawia, iż pęka ziarno i pestka. On wyprowadza żywe z martwego i On wyprowadza martwe z żywego. Oto wasz Bóg! Jakże możecie być odwróceni?!

Indeed, God is the one who splits the grain and the date-stone, bringing the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living. Such is God — so how are you turned away?

Reflection

The verse just before this is a scene of arriving alone before God after death, and the answer set against it here is agricultural: a seed cracked open, life issuing from what looked inert. Fāliq names the one who splits a thing apart, and the same word opens the following verse for daybreak, so germination and sunrise are placed under a single act.
