Surah Ad-Dukhan — 44:43

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ

Inna shajarataz zaqqoom

Zaprawdę, drzewo Az-Zakkum

Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum

Reflection

The sentence started here needs the line after it to finish, so the tree stands alone for a beat before anything is said of it. Zaqqum is named three times across the whole book, each time as something eaten, and 37:64 puts its roots in the depths of the fire. The three lines after it stay inside the vocabulary of cooking: boiling, a belly, scalding water.
