إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ
Innal mujrimeena fee 'azaabi jahannama khaalidoon
Zaprawdę, grzesznicy w karze Gehenny będą przebywać na wieki!
Indeed, the guilty will remain in the punishment of jahannam, there to stay.
The verse turns a corner. Everything from verse sixty-eight onward has described the garden in the vocabulary of wealth, gold trays and goblets and whatever the eye enjoys, which in a surah named for ornament is pointed, since those are the things the deniers already had. Mujrimūn comes from a root meaning to cut off, and two verses further on the passage insists the severing was their own doing.
