Surah Al-Anbya — 21:103

Laa yahzunuhumul faza'ul akbaru wa tatalaq qaahumul malaaa'ikatu haazaa Yawmukumul lazee kuntum too'adoon

The greatest terror will not grieve them, and the angels will receive them: "This is your day, the one you were promised."

Reflection

Hearing organises this whole passage: those in the fire hear nothing, those kept far from it do not catch its faintest sound, and here what reaches them is a voice, angels meeting them with a greeting. Tatalaqqā is the verb for going out to meet someone arriving. Commentators have not agreed on which moment al-fazaʿ al-akbar names: the blast of the trumpet, the sealing of the fire over its people, or the standing at judgement.
