Surah Maryam — 19:98

Wa kam ahlaknaa qabla hum min qarnin hal tuhissu minhum min ahadin aw tasma'u lahum rikzaa

Ileż pokoleń wytraciliśmy przed nimi! Czy ty przeczuwasz choć jednego z nich? Czy ty słyszysz choć najmniejszy ich szept?

And how many generations we have destroyed before them! Do you sense a single one of them now, or hear from them so much as a whisper?

Reflection

Rikzan names the faintest noise a person could catch, and this line is the single place the word is used, standing as the surah's last word. Surah Maryam opened with Zakariya calling his Lord in a voice deliberately kept low; it closes on generations who cannot manage even that much sound.
