إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
Innaa Nahnu nazalnaz Zikra wa Innaa lahoo lahaa fizoon
Zaprawdę, My posłaliśmy napomnienie i My jesteśmy jego stróżami!
Indeed, we ourselves sent down the reminder, and we ourselves are its guardian.
The guarantee arrives inside an argument. Three verses earlier the Prophet has been called mad and challenged to produce angels, so the assurance of preservation answers mockery aimed at the man delivering the message. The Arabic doubles its pronoun for emphasis in both halves of the line, a stress English can only carry by adding words; and commentators have differed over whether al-dhikr here names the Qur'an specifically or the reminder in a wider sense.
