Chapter 99 of the Qur'an · “The Earthquake” · 8 verses · revealed in Madinah
99:1 إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَاWhen the earth is shaken violently in its [last] quaking,
99:2وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَاwhen the earth throws out its burdens,
99:3وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَاwhen man cries, ‘What is happening to it?’;
99:4يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَاon that Day, it will tell all
99:5بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَاbecause your Lord will inspire it [to do so].
99:6يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْOn that Day, people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds:
99:7فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥwhoever has done an atom’s-weight of good will see it,
99:8وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥbut whoever has done an atom’s-weight of evil will see that.
