وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَـٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِى جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Wa'adal laahulmu' mineena walmu'minaati Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa masaakina taiyibatan fee Jannnaati 'adn; wa ridwaanum minal laahi akbar; zaalika hual fawzul 'azeem
Allah menjanjikan kepada orang-orang mukmin lelaki dan perempuan, (akan mendapat) surga yang di bawahnya mengalir sungai-sungai, kekal mereka di dalamnya, dan (mendapat) tempat-tempat yang bagus di surga ʻAdn. Dan keridaan Allah adalah lebih besar; itu adalah keberuntungan yang besar.
God has promised the believing men and the believing women gardens through which rivers flow, where they will remain, and goodly dwellings in gardens of lasting bliss. And the good pleasure of God is greater still. That is the supreme triumph.
The promise is itemized first — gardens with rivers, permanence, good dwellings — and then a single clause is set above the whole list, ranking God's approval higher than any of it. Arabic leaves the comparison open, naming no second term for akbar, so the reader supplies everything just enumerated. Women are named in the promise alongside men, matching the verse before, which pairs them as one another's allies.
