Surah Al-Muzzammil — 73:8

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا

Wazkuris ma rabbika wa tabattal ilaihi tabteelaa

so celebrate the name of your Lord and devote yourself wholeheart-edly to Him.

And remember the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to him completely.

Reflection

Tabattul carries the sense of cutting away, the same stem that gives Maryam her title al-Batul, so the devotion here is a severing of ties toward one direction. Arabic doubles the emphasis by pairing the verb with a cognate noun in a different pattern, which English can only flatten into an adverb. The instruction lands directly after the admission that daylight is crowded with business.
