Surah Al-Waqi'ah — 56:54

فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ

Fashaariboona 'alaihi minal hameem

and drink scalding water,

and drink scalding water on top of it,

Reflection

Ḥamīm names water at the boil, and the same three consonants give Arabic its word for a close intimate. The sequence runs as a meal in stages, eating then filling then drinking, and two verses on the whole of it is called a nuzul, the provision laid out for an arriving guest. The address has turned too, from describing the misguided to speaking straight at them.
