فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Fa ahlaknaaa ashadda minhum batshanw wa madaa masalul lawwaleen
so We have destroyed mightier people than [the disbelievers of Mecca] and their example has gone down in history.
So we destroyed peoples mightier than them in force, and the example of those who came before has already passed.
