أَسْبَـٰبَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَـٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ كَـٰذِبًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِى تَبَابٍ
Asbaabas samaawaati faattali'a ilaaa ilaahi Moosaa wa innee la azunnuhoo kaazibaa; wa kazaalika zuyyina li-Fir'awna sooo'u 'amalihee wa sudda 'anis sabeel; wa maa kaidu Fir'awna illaa fee tabaab
to the heavens to look for this God of Moses. I am convinced that he is lying.’ In this way the evil of Pharaoh’s deed was made alluring to him and he was barred from the right path- his scheming led only to ruin.
the pathways of the heavens, so that I may look upon the god of Musa — though I truly think he is a liar." In this way Pharaoh's evil deeds were made to seem fair to him, and he was turned away from the path. Pharaoh's scheming led to nothing but ruin.
