Surah Ya-Sin — 36:51

وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ

Wa nufikha fis-soori faizaa hum minal ajdaasi ilaa Rabbihim yansiloon

The Trumpet will be sounded and- lo and behold!- they will rush out to their Lord from their graves.

And the trumpet is blown, and at once they pour forth from their graves to their Lord.

Reflection

Two soundings stand in this passage: the blast at verse 49 that seizes people mid-argument, and the trumpet here that brings them out, which commentary has long read as the blast of terror followed by the blast of rising. Yansilūn describes a quick streaming gait, the same verb used of Gog and Magog hurrying down from every height. The word for grave in the verse after is a resting place, a bed someone is woken from.
