Surah Al-Hajj — 22:74

مَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَقَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ

Maa qadrul laaha haqqa qadrih; innal laaha la Qawiyyun 'Azeez

They have no grasp of God’s true measure: God is truly most strong and mighty.

They have not measured God with the measure he truly deserves. Indeed, God is strong, mighty.

Reflection

Qadr in Arabic holds measure and power inside one word, so the failure named here is an estimate gone wrong about capacity itself. The same sentence opens two other passages, one where people deny that God sends revelation down to a human being, the other set on the day of resurrection. Each time it lands where someone has just concluded that God will not, or cannot, do a particular thing.
