Surah Maryam — 19:50

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا

Wa wahabnaa lahum mirrahmatinaa wa ja'alnaa lahum lisaana sidqin 'aliyyaa

We granted Our grace to all of them, and gave them a noble reputation.

And we granted them of our mercy, and gave them a true and lofty renown.

Reflection

The gift is other people's speech: lisān ṣidq is literally a tongue of truth, a name that later generations keep saying well, and Ibrahim had asked for those exact words for himself at 26:84. The command opening the next verse, to mention Musa in the Book, is that renown still being paid out — the surah keeps doing what the verse promises. Every line around it closes on the same -iyyā rhyme.
