وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
Wa izaa bushshira ahaduhum bil unsaa zalla wajhuhoo muswaddanw wa huwa kazeem
When one of them is given news of the birth of a baby girl, his face darkens and he is filled with gloom.
When one of them is given news of a daughter, his face darkens and he is choked with grief.
